Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA Ltd)
UpBeat: Newsletter for Licensees
APRA currently has approximately 60,000 general clients - who, by having a licence, meet the legal requirement for accessing music which is publicly performed or broadcast. UpBeat is the annual newsletter for these licensees and provides them with information regarding the collection and distribution of music royalties. Also featuring articles of interest, the newsletter promotes understanding of APRA and presents a tangiable image to an extremely important client base. Kandure produces the Australian and New zealand versions of Upbeat.

While retaining the same structure, the 2005-2006 layout received a re-design to update the look and feel yet keeping with some of the bold colour statements of previous editions. This version also incorporates a reply paid licence for Music on Hold as attached to the brochure, but perforated and gummed for easy response.

2004 Edition of Upbeat. The brochure designs continues the styling of current APRA brochures, but added artistic elements further enhance the overall layout. The brochures are located on APRA's website in .pdf for download.

With a print run of 100,000 this 2003 issue is a DL size eight page brochure: easy to handle and enjoyable to read. Articles include the APRA Awards, the deen hotel in Perth and BOSE advice on obtaining the most from sound systems in venues and business locations.

This 2002 newsletter also celebrated the 30th birthday of The Basement as one of Sydney's premier live music venues and home of thebasement.com.au: a fabulous internet-based music channel.
